About EditDuck
Free tools for video, audio, PDFs and photos. Your files stay on your device, we never receive or store them, and nothing here costs money.
Why I made EditDuck
I wanted a handy, free editor that does 99% of everyday video and audio jobs on the fly, right in the browser, with no licenses, installs or sign-ups.
Everything I tried wanted something first: a download, an account, a subscription, or my files on someone else’s server. So I made the one I wanted: simple, fast and clear.
And private: your files never leave your device. EditDuck works right in your browser, so I never see your videos. And I don’t want to.
How your files are processed
When you open a file, your browser does all the work on your phone or computer. Video and audio go through the codecs built into the browser (WebCodecs, driven by Mediabunny). PDFs are put together with pdf-lib and drawn with PDF.js. Photos are re-encoded by MozJPEG, libwebp, libavif and oxipng, compiled to WebAssembly. No file is sent to a server, so there is no upload to wait for and no copy left behind.
What we don’t collect
- Your files: they never reach us, so there is nothing to keep, share or sell.
- Accounts: we never ask for your name, email or password.
- Analytics, tracking, advertising and cookies: the site runs none of them.
- Our hosting provider, Vercel, keeps standard technical logs for a limited time (IP address, page address, browser type) to deliver the site and protect it from attacks. They never contain your files.
What is free
- Every tool, with no plan, no trial and no ads.
- No account: nothing to sign up for, and we never ask for your email.
- No watermark on what you save, and no rights claimed over it.
- No file size limit of ours. A big file needs free memory on your device, and two tools have a cap of their own: Merge videos takes up to 20 clips, Video to GIF up to 30 seconds.
Why it can be free
Your device does the work, not our servers, so processing a file costs us nothing. The servers only deliver the pages of the site.
Where it works
In an up-to-date Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari, on a computer, an iPhone or an Android phone. Phones don’t let websites record the screen, so Screen recorder needs a computer.
