How to record the screen with audio
Turn on the microphone to talk over what you show. To capture the sound of a video or a call, tick “Share audio” in the browser’s window when you pick what to share. Your voice and that sound are mixed into one track.
- Chrome and Edge share a tab’s sound on any system, and the whole computer’s sound on Windows and ChromeOS.
- Firefox and Safari don’t share sound, so only the microphone is recorded there.
Your webcam in a corner
Turn on “Camera in the corner” and you appear in a small circle over the recording. Drag it to any corner and choose Small or Medium. It lands in the video exactly where you see it.
After you press Stop
- With no trim, or the fast trim, it saves in a moment: nothing is re-encoded.
- Chrome and Edge save up to 1920×1080 at 30 frames per second. A 4K display is scaled down to fit.
- You get MP4 where the browser can make one, otherwise WebM.
- A crash or a reload doesn’t cost you the take. The next visit shows a banner to recover it.
