Rotate video online

Rotate video clips filmed sideways or upside down and save them upright in about a second. The file stays on your device: it is never sent to our server or stored there.

MP4, MOV, WebM, MKV and more · any video this device can play

No account to create, no email to give. No account, nothing to hack.

How it works

  1. Choose a videoOpen the sideways clip from your phone gallery or a folder on your computer.
  2. Turn it uprightPress Left 90° or Right 90° until the preview stands straight.
  3. Save the copyAn MP4 or MOV turn is saved in about a second. A mirror takes longer.

How to rotate a video

A phone records sideways when the screen didn’t turn in time, and then the clip lies on its side in every player. Here you stand it upright, and the preview turns at once, so you see the result before you save. It is free, needs no account, and we set no file-size cap.

Rotate video 90 degrees or 180

  • Left 90° and Right 90° turn the picture a quarter at a time.
  • Press the same button twice for 180°. That fixes a clip filmed upside down.
  • Reset puts the picture back the way it was filmed.

Why a turn costs no quality

An MP4 or MOV stores its direction as a small mark. A turn rewrites only that mark and copies the picture and sound as they are. Nothing is encoded again, so nothing is lost, and the length, sound and file size stay practically the same.

Mirror a selfie clip

Flip left to right swaps the sides, which fixes front-camera clips where writing reads backwards. Flip upside down swaps top and bottom. A mirror changes every frame, so the picture is encoded again and saving takes roughly as long as the clip plays; the sound is copied unchanged. A few browsers can’t mirror video, and the page says so. Turning still works there.

Formats

  • MP4 stays MP4, and MOV stays MOV.
  • WebM and MKV come out as MP4, because those formats have no place for a turn.
  • Your original stays as it was. The upright copy gets “-rotated” in its name.

Turn first, then edit

Crop or trim after rotating: the frame is easier to set on an upright picture. A clip that went from tall to wide may also need a new shape, such as 16:9 for YouTube or 9:16 for Stories.
