Most people come here to increase video volume, so the page opens one step up, at 200 %. The slider runs from silence to four times as loud in 5 % steps. One-tap picks sit below it: 50, 150, 200 and 300 %. Beside the percent you see decibels: 200 % is about +6 dB, 400 % about +12 dB. Above 100 % a soft limiter holds the peaks at −1 dB or lower, so a loud voice does not crackle.
Move the slider below 100 %. At 50 % the clip is half as loud, at 0 % it is silent.
