Blur image parts: faces, plates, text

Blur image areas to hide a face, a number plate or an email before you post a photo or send a screenshot. The photo is never sent to us, so nobody else sees it before it is hidden.

JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, GIF, BMP, HEIC · one photo at a time

Your privacy comes first

  • We never store your files

They don’t even reach us: your phone or computer does the work. Nothing to delete later.

  • 100% free

  • No sign-up

No account to create, no email to give. No account, nothing to hack.

How it works

  1. Add a photoPress Choose images and pick one photo or screenshot, or drop it on the page.
  2. Mark what to hideDrag across the photo over each thing to hide. Under How to hide, choose Blur, Pixels or Box.
  3. Blur and saveThe new photo downloads with those parts hidden for good; the original stays as it was.

How to blur part of a photo

A screenshot for support shows your email. A car photo for a sale listing shows the plate. A flat for rent shows family photos on the shelf. Blur image parts like these before the picture goes anywhere, and leave the rest sharp.

Mark the areas

  • Drag across the picture to draw a Rectangle. Choose Oval for a face.
  • Drag an area to move it, pull its corner to resize, press × to remove it.
  • On a phone, tap to drop an area and fit it by its corner.
  • With the keyboard, arrows nudge the selected area and Delete removes it.
  • Undo and Redo bring back any step.

Blur, Pixels or Box

  • Blur: soft, for faces and backgrounds. Blur strength runs from 1 to 8 % of the shorter side.
  • Pixels: the classic mosaic. Bigger pixels hide more.
  • Box: solid black, white or grey. For numbers, emails, addresses and card details it is the safest.
  • Each area keeps its own way of hiding. Use for every area makes them all the same.

Why the blur can’t be undone

Some apps lay a blur over the photo as a separate layer, or blur so lightly that software can guess the text back. Here the pixels under each area are replaced before saving. Blur and Pixels start from coarse blocks with a little noise, never finer than 6 pixels, and the file is written anew.

Where it helps

  • Screenshots of chats, banking apps and orders: names, phone and card numbers.
  • Car photos for a sale listing: the number plate.
  • Street and party photos: faces of people who didn’t agree to be posted, children above all.
  • Photos of documents: the passport number, the signature, the address.

What you get

  • The same format and size. HEIC, GIF and BMP are saved as JPG, or PNG if see-through.
  • “-blurred” is added to the name.
  • Location and camera details are not copied to the new photo.
  • One photo at a time, so every area gets a careful look.
