Convert image format for any app or site

A site hands you a WebP that an older app won’t open, an iPhone saves HEIC that Windows shows as a blank icon, or a form accepts only JPG. This image converter rewrites the file in the format you need and keeps the picture as it is.

Which format to pick

  • JPG opens everywhere: photos to send, print or upload.
  • PNG keeps sharp edges and transparency and is always lossless: screenshots, logos, diagrams.
  • WebP is much lighter than JPG at the same look: pictures for your own website.
  • AVIF gives the smallest files. Current browsers open it; some older apps don’t.

What it opens

  • JPG, PNG, WebP and AVIF.
  • GIF and BMP. Of an animated GIF only the first frame is kept.
  • HEIC and HEIF from an iPhone in any browser. Outside Safari a 1.5 MB decoder loads with the first HEIC photo.

The image converter takes up to 50 pictures at a time. They all get the same format and quality. Remove any from the list before you save, or add more with Add images.

What you get

  • The name stays, only the extension changes: beach.heic becomes beach.jpg.
  • JPG, WebP and AVIF are saved at High; the gear offers Best, Good and Smaller file.
  • PNG, WebP and AVIF keep see-through parts. JPG has none, so they turn white.
  • A photo shot sideways comes out upright. Location and other camera details are not copied.

Good to know

  • A JPG turned into PNG won’t get sharper. It only gets heavier.
  • AVIF takes a few seconds per large photo to write.
  • When every picture you add is already JPG, PNG is picked to start with.
