The joiner puts clips end to end in a single MP4. They open sorted by name, so IMG_0012 comes before IMG_0013, and the player plays them all in order, so you can check the result before saving.
When all clips come from the same phone or camera with the same settings, they are joined as they are. That is instant, with no quality loss, and the save bar says “Instant, same quality”. Clips that differ in size or format are re-saved to match, which takes longer.
Formats can be mixed in one video. The result is an MP4 that plays on any phone, computer and messenger. A clip without sound gets silence of the same length, so the sound of the others stays in sync.
