Resize a video

Resize video files to a new width and height: 720p for a website, a square for a feed, a vertical frame for stories. The preview shows the new frame before anything is saved, and the video stays on your device: we never receive or store it.

MP4, MOV, WebM, MKV and more · any video this device can play

Your privacy comes first

Your contracts, passport scans and family videos stay yours. No one but you gets to see them.

  • We never store your files

They don’t even reach us: your phone or computer does the work. Nothing to delete later.

  • 100% free

No daily limits, no file-size cap, no paid Pro plan.

  • No sign-up

No account to create, no email to give. No account, nothing to hack.

How it works

  1. Choose a videoOpen it from your phone or computer. It plays in the new frame at once.
  2. Pick the sizeTap 1080p, 720p, 480p, Square or Vertical, or type a width and height.
  3. Save the videoFor a new shape choose Fit, Fill or Stretch, then save.

How to change video resolution

A video is sometimes the wrong size: too large for a website, too small for a TV, or the wrong shape for a feed. You set the new frame in pixels and watch the result play right away.

Resize video in one tap

  • 1080p, 720p and 480p set the short side and keep the shape. A 16:9 video becomes 1920×1080, 1280×720 or 854×480.
  • Square gives 1080×1080, the classic feed post.
  • Vertical gives 1080×1920 for stories, reels and shorts.
  • Your own size: any width and height from 16 to 4096 pixels. With Keep the shape on, the other side follows.

When the new frame has another shape

Fit keeps the whole picture and adds black bars. Fill covers the frame and cuts off the edges that stick out. Stretch squeezes the picture in, so faces and circles look distorted.

Frame size and file size

  • A smaller frame makes a smaller file, handy for email, chats and websites.
  • A bigger frame makes the file grow, but the picture won’t get sharper.
  • The picture is encoded anew, so it takes a while. The sound is copied as it is when it can be.
  • Before you start, the save bar shows the new frame and the expected file size.

Formats

MP4, MOV, WebM, MKV and other videos your browser plays open here. By default the file keeps its format where it can; MP4 and WebM are offered too.

Resize or crop?

Resizing keeps the whole picture and changes its pixel size. Cropping cuts part of the picture away. Want no bars and no stretching? Crop the video to the new shape instead.
