Scan documents to PDF

Scan to PDF with your phone camera: photograph the pages, crop each to the sheet and save them as one PDF. The photos stay on your phone; we never receive them.

Photos of documents — JPG, PNG or HEIC, many at once

Your privacy comes first

Your contracts, passport scans and family videos stay yours. No one but you gets to see them.

  • We never store your files

They don’t even reach us: your phone or computer does the work. Nothing to delete later.

  • 100% free

No daily limits, no file-size cap, no paid Pro plan.

  • No sign-up

No account to create, no email to give. No account, nothing to hack.

How it works

  1. Take photosPhotograph each page with the camera, or choose photos you already have.
  2. Tidy the pagesCrop each page to the paper, turn it upright and put the pages in order.
  3. Save the PDFAll the pages go into one PDF in your downloads.

Scan a document with your phone, no scanner needed

When someone asks for a signed form or a receipt as a PDF, the phone in your pocket is enough. The camera opens right on this page, and the shots are not sent anywhere.

Take photos or choose them

  • Photograph pages with the phone's back camera or a computer's webcam, right on this page.
  • Already took the photos? Choose them from the gallery or the Files app: JPG, PNG or HEIC.
  • Mix both: shoot a few pages, then add a photo you took earlier.

Make a photo look like a scan

  • Crop: drag the corners of the frame to the edges of the paper, and the table around it is gone.
  • Rotate a page that came out sideways or upside down.
  • Document look is on for every new photo: grey, with the contrast raised so the paper goes white and the ink dark. Switch it off on a page you want in colour.

What the PDF looks like

Every page is an A4 sheet with no margins, the photo fitted whole. A page is stored at up to 3508 pixels on its long side, which is A4 at 300 dpi, as a JPEG at 85% quality. Drag thumbnails to reorder and remove the ones you don't need: the order on screen is the order in the file.

Tips for a clean phone scan

  • Lay the paper flat on a dark surface, so its edges are easy to see.
  • Use daylight or a bright lamp, and keep your own shadow off the page.
  • Hold the phone straight above the page, not at an angle.
  • For fine print, take the photo in your camera app and choose it here. The live camera on this page shoots video frames of about 2 megapixels; a camera app gives 12 or more.

Allow the camera once

The browser asks for the camera the first time. If you said no by mistake, allow it in the site settings next to the address bar, or simply choose photos instead.
