Watermark a PDF

Put a word, a short line or your logo on every page, so anyone who opens the file sees what it is. The document stays yours: we never receive or store it.

One PDF file, any size

  • We never store your files

They don’t even reach us: your phone or computer does the work. Nothing to delete later.

  • 100% free

No daily limits, no file-size cap, no paid Pro plan.

  • No sign-up

No account to create, no email to give. No account, nothing to hack.

How it works

  1. Choose a PDFOpen the document from your phone or computer.
  2. Type the watermarkType a word or tap a ready one: CONFIDENTIAL, DRAFT, COPY or SAMPLE.
  3. Adjust and saveSet the place, size, angle and colour, then press Save.

How to add a watermark to PDF pages

A watermark tells the reader what they are holding: a draft, a copy for one person, a sample. To add a watermark to PDF pages here, type the text and watch the preview change as you move the settings.

Text in Latin or Cyrillic

Type a word, your name or a line of up to 80 characters. English, Russian and other languages written in Latin or Cyrillic letters all work. The text is saved as real text, so it stays sharp at any zoom and in print.

Settings

  • Place: once in the middle, or repeated all over the page so it can’t be cropped off.
  • Visibility: from 5% to 100%. The default 25% keeps the page easy to read.
  • Size: from a small note to large letters across the page.
  • Angle: diagonal by default, or straight or upright.
  • Colour: grey, red, blue or black.

A logo instead of text

In the settings, choose a PNG or JPG picture instead of text. A PNG with a see-through background looks cleanest. Place, size, angle and visibility work for a picture too.

Which watermark for which job

  • DRAFT in grey, once in the middle: a version still under review.
  • CONFIDENTIAL in red, all over the page: a document meant for one reader.
  • “Copy for the bank only” repeated across an ID scan, so it can’t be reused elsewhere.
  • A small, light logo: a price list, a portfolio or a quote.

Every page gets the same mark

The watermark goes on all pages in one go. Try a few looks in the preview before saving; the original file stays as it was.

A watermark is a label, not a lock

It marks the document and makes passing it on less tempting. Anyone with a PDF editor could still remove it. To stop people opening the file at all, set a password with Protect PDF.
