Where the numbers go
- Six places: top or bottom, each on the left, in the centre or on the right.
- Bottom centre is the default, the usual place in books and reports.
- The thumbnails show the result before you save.
Number the pages of a report, a thesis or a manual and see the numbers on the thumbnails before you save. The document stays yours: we never receive or keep it.

One PDF file, any size
Your contracts, passport scans and family videos stay yours. No one but you gets to see them.
They don’t even reach us: your phone or computer does the work. Nothing to delete later.
No daily limits, no file-size cap, no paid Pro plan.
No account to create, no email to give. No account, nothing to hack.
A long PDF without numbers is hard to discuss: “see page 14” only works if there is a 14 on the page. Here you add page numbers to PDF documents in three taps and check every page before saving.
Turn on Skip the first page and the cover stays clean. It still counts, so the second page reads 2, as in a printed book.
The settings gear holds the rest:
The numbers are real text in dark grey Helvetica, not a picture, so they stay sharp at any zoom and in print. A page turned sideways gets its number on the edge you see when reading. Text, pictures and links on the pages stay as they were.
Each page is measured on its own, so a PDF that mixes A4, Letter and landscape pages gets its numbers in the same spot on every one. The numbers are always dark grey, which makes them hard to see on a black page or a dark photo.
Add page numbers to PDF files as the final step. Put the pages in order in Organize PDF pages first. To get one run of numbers across several files, join them in Merge PDF. Then page 7 stays page 7.
